The popular romantic comedy webtoon “I’m Not a Guy!?” is officially heading for a live-action television adaptation, according to recent reports from Korean entertainment media outlets. The announcement, made on October 24, has quickly caught the attention of both K-drama and webtoon fans eager to see how this gender-bending office romance will play out on screen.

Actors Si-wan Im and In-ah Seol are reportedly in talks to take on the lead roles, though casting details have yet to be fully confirmed. Both actors are well known in the Korean entertainment scene—Si-wan for his sharp, versatile performances in series like Misaeng and Tracer, and Seol In-ah for her bright and memorable roles in Business Proposal and Twinkling Watermelon. If confirmed, the pairing promises an exciting mix of charisma and chemistry for this unusual rom-com.

The series, based on the web novel and webtoon of the same name, revolves around I-jun Yoon, a third-generation conglomerate heir and murder suspect, and Jae-hee Kang, a former special forces officer who disguises herself as a man to go undercover as his bodyguard and secretary. Yoon, raised in privilege but entangled in scandal, is described as eccentric, unpredictable, and emotionally complex. Kang, on the other hand, is known for her discipline, strength, and sharp instincts—qualities that make her ideal for the risky undercover mission.

What begins as a tense professional relationship soon turns into a tangled web of secrets, humor, and emotional confusion. The story’s blend of action, comedy, and slow-burning romantic tension has earned it a strong following online, especially among fans of unconventional romance and gender disguise tropes.

The original webtoon version of I’m Not a Guy!? was written by Ah-hyun Lee and Do-ha Ryu, with artwork by One Punch Rabbit. It ran from 2022 to 2025 on both Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon, platforms known for hosting many of Korea’s most successful digital comics. Although an official English release of the webtoon or web novel has not yet been made available, readers can find a French-language version currently online.

Fans of One Punch Rabbit might also recognize their work from the romantic webtoon “Take Me, I’m Yours”, which they co-created with RoseBean and which is available in English on WEBTOON.

The upcoming adaptation marks another step in Korea’s growing trend of transforming popular webtoons into live-action dramas, following successful adaptations like Business Proposal, Sweet Home, and A Good Day to Be a Dog. These projects continue to bridge the gap between the digital comic and television industries, offering fans new ways to experience their favorite stories.

While there are no details yet on broadcast dates, production studios, or platforms, the adaptation of I’m Not a Guy!? already has the potential to stand out thanks to its sharp mix of comedy, mystery, and gender-bending romance. With strong source material and potential leads as talented as Si-wan Im and In-ah Seol, this could easily become one of the most anticipated K-drama adaptations in the near future.
