Studio TF1 Launches Two Bold French Comedies Good Vibes Only and Everybody Lies at AFM 2025
France’s Studio TF1 is stepping into the spotlight at the American Film Market (AFM), running from November 11 to 16, with two standout comedy titles that promise to showcase the lively and inventive spirit of French cinema — Good Vibes Only (Pour Le Plaisir) and Everybody Lies (Avis De Tempête).
The first of the pair, Good Vibes Only, is directed by Reem Kherici, a well-known French actress and filmmaker whose earlier works include Wedding Unplanned and Cat & Dog – The Great Crossing (2024). This new film tells the true story of a married couple who invented the revolutionary sex toy “the Womanizer”, a creation that transformed how women experience pleasure.
Kherici not only directs but also co-stars in the movie, alongside French favorites Alexandra Lamy and François Cluzet. The film is currently in post-production and will be released in France in 2026. It’s produced by Vendôme Films and Baxtory Films, both of which are known for their sharp and engaging comedies, including Coda, the Oscar-winning remake of La Famille Bélier.

The project is generating buzz not just for its subject matter — a candid and humorous exploration of sexual liberation — but also for its approach. According to Alice Damiani, SVP of International Film Sales at Studio TF1, Good Vibes Only is “an intimate, modern, and audacious story” that reflects the growing diversity and boldness of today’s French film scene.
For international sales, Studio TF1 is positioning Good Vibes Only as a fresh, conversation-starting comedy with both emotional warmth and a daring premise. The story’s combination of real-life inspiration and mainstream charm could make it a talking point at AFM 2025, especially as audiences continue to seek more inclusive and open representations of intimacy on screen.
The second major title, Everybody Lies, comes from director Ludovic Bernard, known for his crowd-pleasing hits How To Survive Without Mum and The Climb. This time, Bernard trades domestic chaos for Cold War-era intrigue with a comedic twist.
Set aboard a French ocean liner, the film follows the journey of the Mona Lisa, which is being transported across the Atlantic to the United States for a museum loan. But when the priceless painting vanishes mid-voyage, chaos and comedy ensue as the crew and passengers race against time to recover it.
The ensemble cast reads like a who’s who of French comedy, featuring Christian Clavier, Elsa Zylberstein, François Berléand, Maxime Gasteuil, Stéphane De Groodt, and Sarah Stern. The film is currently in production, with UGC producing and handling its French release, set for next year.
Described by Damiani as a “delightfully offbeat historical adventure with a flamboyant touch,” Everybody Lies blends history, art, and absurdity into a comedic caper that could appeal widely across international markets.
Together, Good Vibes Only and Everybody Lies highlight Studio TF1’s strategy to promote character-driven, emotionally engaging, and distinctly French comedies with cross-border appeal. With one exploring love, invention, and empowerment, and the other tackling art, mystery, and mischief, both films reflect the creative energy that continues to define French cinema today.
