Greg Warren’s New Comedy Special The Champ Brings Fresh Laughs and Familiar Charm

Greg Warren is back with a brand-new comedy special, and fans of his clean, relatable humor have a lot to look forward to. His latest hour, The Champ, premiered on May 16th on Nate Bargatze’s Nateland YouTube channel, adding another milestone to Warren’s long list of comedy accomplishments. The special was filmed at The Funny Bone Columbus in Ohio and produced by Nate Bargatze, with direction by Mike Lavin and executive production by Adrian Kulp under the Nateland banner.

The new special dives into a set of sharply observed topics, including the very real hazards of poison ivy, the unexpected rise of high school fishing teams, and Warren’s own playful claims to champion status. These themes highlight his signature ability to extract humor from everyday American life, which has long endeared him to a broad audience ranging from families to lifelong comedy fans.

This release follows the success of Warren’s earlier special, The Salesman, co-produced by Nate Bargatze and 800 Pound Gorilla Media, which earned serious praise. His bio notes that The New York Times credited Warren with having “done for peanut butter what Jerry Seinfeld did for Pop-Tarts and Jim Gaffigan did for Hot Pockets,” pointing to his comedic knack for turning ordinary products into standout material. The hour explored his early career after college, when he sold Jif and Pringles for Procter & Gamble, a job that ended up inspiring significant parts of his stand-up journey.

Warren’s comedy catalog already includes his Amazon Prime special Where the Field Corn Grows, the Fish Sandwich set on Dry Bar Comedy, and appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show, and Comedy Central Presents. His work has gained traction on channels covering different entertainment niches, including BET’s Coming to the Stage and Country Music Television, a combination that reflects his wide appeal.

He is also a longtime favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show, where he contributes a recurring call-in segment known as The Warren Report. His comedy has aired daily on SiriusXM for over a decade and continues to be featured on the Pure Comedy channel (formerly Laugh USA) and Jeff & Larry’s Comedy Roundup. Warren’s podcast appearances include Nateland, Never Not Funny, Bertcast, Dumb People Town, The Adam Carolla Show, and many others.

Comedy festivals and competitions have highlighted Warren as well. He was chosen as a New Face of Comedy at Just for Laughs, appeared on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, and participated in NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He continues to expand his reach through The Consumers, a Nateland network podcast where he and comedians Tim Convy and Sean O’Brien break down one national brand every week.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Warren’s background plays a key role in many of his stories. He grew up with a father who coached high school wrestling and a mother who insisted he play the clarinet, a combination that fed his memorable jokes about juggling the identities of varsity wrestler and band geek.

Warren also spent time as a West Point Cadet, where he collected more demerits than he cares to count, before moving on to the University of Missouri to study journalism and eventually becoming an All-American college wrestler.

Fans can catch him performing new material on a 2025 domestic tour, with tickets available at GregWarrenComedy.com. The new special The Champ is available to watch on Nateland’s YouTube channel.
