Written by Joe Iconis, known for Be More Chill, the production continues to be directed by John Simpkins and produced by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, maintaining the same creative leadership that has shaped the event’s identity over the years. Described as a mix of rock concert and theater piece, the holiday event promises new songs, returning favorites, and a cast of 50 performers.

This year’s lineup includes Annie Golden from Hair and Liz Lark Brown from White Girl in Danger, adding well-known talent to the already packed cast. Returning collaborators such as Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening), Max Mendoza Crumm (Grease), Morgan Siobhan Green, Eric William Morris (King Kong), Jason SweetTooth Williams (Be More Chill), and Lauren Marcus (Be More Chill) are also confirmed to appear.

The production also confirms more performers to be announced, keeping with the tradition of the show’s continually expanding ensemble. Fans can expect a combination of fresh material alongside the signature elements that audiences return for each year.

Choreography for the 2025 edition is handled by Christine O’Grady, bringing structure to the show’s energetic performance style. Costume design is led by Brendan McCann, ensuring the event’s signature bold and colorful holiday aesthetic remains intact.

The role of assistant director and environmental designer is filled by Max Friedman, contributing to the immersive and lively atmosphere the show is known for. This aligns with what 54 Below describes as part music event and part theatrical spectacle, which has been a hallmark of the Extravaganza.
