Amazon MGM Studios is officially developing Kill the Bedfords, a new apocalyptic dark action-comedy series created by O-T Fagbenle, who will also star, write, and executive produce the project. The show is being developed in partnership with Osun Group, with O-T joined by executive producers Luti Fagbenle and Sheila Nortley, while Tara Ayeni, Osun Group’s head of development, oversees the project on their side.

According to the show’s official logline, Kill the Bedfords is described as a darkly comedic, action-packed apocalyptic road series centered on a dysfunctional family trying to save their grandfather as the world collapses around them.

The story explores themes of survival, technology, and human stubbornness, all while the characters keep squabbling even as civilization falls apart. The concept mixes high-stakes action with family chaos, setting the tone for a series that blends humor with end-of-the-world urgency.

This new project continues O-T Fagbenle’s track record of creating and starring in his own work. He previously wrote, starred in, and executive produced the British comedy series Maxxx, which was also produced by his brother Luti.

Sheila Nortley contributed as executive producer, while Tara Ayeni served as script executive, script editor, and additional writer. O-T also directed several episodes, demonstrating his multi-hyphenate involvement both behind and in front of the camera. More on O-T’s creative history can be found on his Wikipedia page.

O-T Fagbenle is widely recognized for his acclaimed performance as Lucas Bankole in the hit Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama in 2021. Beyond this, his TV credits include The First Lady, WeCrashed, Loot, and Presumed Innocent, showcasing his range across drama, comedy, and limited-series formats.

Details on his television career can be explored on the official Hulu pages for The Handmaid’s Tale or through coverage on entertainment news outlets such as Deadline.

Osun Group, the production company contributing to the development of Kill the Bedfords, has been expanding its slate with noteworthy international projects. Their recent work includes the BBC Storyville documentary White Man Walking, the Netflix adaptation of Blue Therapy, and the Belgian version titled Koppels in Crisis for Streamz.

They are also developing a series adaptation of Yrsa Daley-Ward’s novel The Catch, signaling the group’s continued focus on cross-genre and global content. More information on Osun Group’s catalog and company background is available on their official site at osungroup.com.

On the representation front, O-T is represented by Buchwald, Management 360, and Hansen Jacobson.

Luti is represented by WME, and Sheila Nortley is represented by 42 Management & Production. As of now, Amazon MGM Studios has not announced a release date or additional casting details for Kill the Bedfords, and the project remains in active development.

With its mix of dark humor, action, and a uniquely dysfunctional family dynamic set against an apocalyptic backdrop, Kill the Bedfords is shaping up to be one of O-T Fagbenle’s most ambitious and distinctive projects yet.
